Description
The Weeping Fig hails from Asia and Australia, where it can grow about 10 feet tall. The miniature variety grows to about 3 feet. Its long, pointed leaves sprout off of large, arching branches. The leaves have a glossy green and white design.
This popular houseplant needs bright, direct light for several hours each day. Consider placing
Ficus benjamina, Variegated
in a sunny window. Outdoors, it can take full sun to part shade. Allow it to dry out between watering, and take care not to move it. It prefers to stay in one location. Changes in moisture, light, humidity, or location can cause the plant to drop some of its leaves. Trees that are overwatered will have leaves that turn yellow before dropping off. With the proper care, the variegated ficus is an excellent choice for fairy gardens and miniature gardens.
Note:
This plant is especially well suited in the creation of a miniature garden or fairy garden.
